At The Phillips Club, the safety of our guests and staff has always been at the forefront of our priorities. These days, we are taking the necessary steps to keep everyone as healthy as possible while maintaining the graciousness and hospitality that have been synonymous with The Phillips Club.
We are pleased to announce that The Phillips Club and its employees are compliant with the New York State private sector COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
There is a four faceted approach to our Safety Program:
Checking for illness
On a daily basis, we check the temperature of all staff members, vendors, and maintenance workers entering the building. If they are symptomatic, they will not be allowed into the building.
In addition to this, all staff members must fill out a Health Attestation Form prior to arriving for work.
Should one of our guests experience any COVID 19 or other symptoms of illness during their stay, we have a protocol in place that will both help that guest and keep others safe.
Social Distancing
Our staff members and guests maintain social distancing including limiting the number of people in elevators and in our public areas.
Given that our priority is the safety and staff your apartment will be serviced when there is no one is there. The cleaning of your unit will be coordinated with you to ensure that you do not come in contact with the Room Attendant.
Protective Personal Equipment
Our staff members wear masks and gloves at all times which are changed throughout the day.
Any outside vendor entering the building is required to wear a mask.
All guests entering The Phillips Club must wear a mask throughout the public areas.
Hand sanitizer is available in the Lobby and elevator locations.
Health and Cleanliness
This is the area to which we have dedicated the most of our time and resources.
We have put protocols in place to ensure that all surfaces and areas in public areas will be disinfected on an ongoing basis.
The concept behind our cleaning protocols is twofold – to limit the number of items our staff and guests touch, and to disinfect those that are touched.
For example:
- We have installed an automatic front door.
- Elimination of Registration Cards.
- No handling of credit cards by staff.
- We have installed automatic faucets and soap dispensers in our public bathrooms.
Other areas, like lobby furniture, bell carts, elevator buttons are disinfected on an ongoing basis.
In addition, we have added a new line of EPA approved disinfectants. Our Room Attendants have been trained to use these products throughout every surface in apartments and public areas.
We have also partnered with our Laundry Company to ensure that linens and terry are washed and disinfected properly, using safe but effective products at the optimum water temperature.
Our Hygiene Partner
We have partnered with Ecolab, the global leader in infection prevention solutions and services to determine which disinfectant products we require during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. They have also provided us with training and compliance education for our team.
Using a comprehensive, science-based approach, Ecolab Science Certified combines advanced chemistry with new public health training and audit verification to deliver a high standard of cleanliness for public health required due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new Ecolab COVID-19 Program delivers comprehensive, science-based solutions for clean and safe environments during this unprecedented time.
In closing, our list of procedures and protocols is extensive and this is only an outline of what steps we have taken to ensure health and safety. In doing so, we hope to provide you with a secure, healthy, and fun stay in New York.
RECENT GUEST EXPERIENCES
Dear Debbie,
I want to thank you and your team for doing a great job getting PC ready for the members. I was among the first ones back and was very impressed with the cleanliness and preparedness of the staff. I felt very comfortable during my one week stay there and cannot wait to return.
Thank you again for the awesome work that you are doing. Best wishes for the continued safety and health of all the staff and their family!

Dear Debbie,
We stayed at the Phillips Club for 5 nights starting Wednesday August 5th. It was our first time going into NYC since early March. We felt very comfortable staying at the Phillips. Everyone wore masks, hand sanitizer was readily available and social distancing was respected. It was nice reconnecting with the staff. We feel that everyone went out of their way to make our stay a very positive one and we will not hesitate going back.
Best regards,
Deborah Cohen

My wife and I (and a two year old small four-legged one) had a fine stay and felt very safe. Everything was wiped down often. There were sanitizers in many places. The staff had masks on. It felt like it always has felt at The Phillips Club. And NYC is making a return, also. Lots of outdoor restaurants. Almost everyone wearing a mask. No events where people gather.

Hi Debbie,
We had last visited NYC the first week of March, when COVID19 was becoming a threat and the city was still busy and bustling. We cleaned our hands and still used public transportation, went to theatre, restaurants and came home with only colds (we assume).
August 15 to 20 we returned to TPC, happy to see our staff and the facility doing very well. The changes are important and show that everyone is being considered. The Plexiglas barrier at desk does not prevent smiles from showing. The hand cleaner at the elevator is a great reminder for another cleanup. The packet of cleaning items and masks supplement what is brought from home. Door staff encourage use of touchless door opener but are there to help with baggage as always. The housekeeping staff will clean only while unit is unoccupied, so it helps to leave out the “do not disturb” sign while you are at home. Gourmet Garage still has great food for sale.
